Carolina Evans

From Carolina Evans, Mathematics Education, '05

February 2006

It's great to hear everyone's doing well, and that you were able to use my experience to encourage someone else :) Yesterday (Friday) at the end of one of my classes one of my students came up to me to tell me how much he appreciated me being there, and that he could actually learn now that the class was under control since it hadn't been even with the regular teacher. Me, being complemented on my classroom management skills!!! That's my reward, it's kids like him that keep me going. As for family life we're doing really well. Just settled in to our new house over the break and Lucas is loving all the space. He's even got his own playroom but he'd rather play in the Tupperware cabinets of course. He took his first steps a few days after Christmas and is getting braver and braver about taking more (which only scares me more and more). You can check out pics of him and even a video of his first steps on our website: www.mayrinckevans.com <http://www.mayrinckevans.com/> James updates it often so it should be pretty current. He grows so fast it's almost hard to keep up with all the milestone but the camera is always around. I'm scrapbooking all of it so I can also keep memories of things I can't take pictures of, like when he learns a new sign or says a new word. He just saw me on the computer so now he's trying to grab for it, i.e. time to go!

Great to hear back from you Mrs. B!
