Message from Program Chair

Welcome to the Premedical Studies Program at the Florida Institute of Technology!

Over the past 50 years, Florida Institute of Technology has built a reputation for academic excellence in fields not foreseen by the rocket scientists who founded it at the dawn of the Space Age. Today, the university is coming of age in a variety of fields, including biomedical science. Florida Tech offers specific pre-med majors in biology, chemistry and physics, as well as majors in molecular biology and biochemistry, to prepare students for careers in medicine and veterinary medicine, as well as pharmacy, physical therapy, and physician's assistants. With over 80 pre-med majors, Florida Tech's pre-med programs provide undergraduates with the right platform for later success. We combine the best of a small liberal arts school in terms of one-on-one faculty attention and small classes with the resources of a national research university.

Our pre-med advisor, Dr. Julia Grimwade, can help you map your career, taking you step by step through the process of choosing the right courses and applying to professional school. Florida Tech's program works for students. On average, more than 70 percent of our students are accepted into a health professional school.
